  • Monroe County deputies report that Amanda Edd was charged with driving while intoxicated after crashing her car on West Henrietta Road Thursday morning.

  • Monroe County deputies charged a Rush teenager with driving while intoxicated Thursday morning.
    Deputies report Amanda Edd, 18, of 130 Thunder Ridge Road, Rush, crashed her car on West Henrietta Road. Edd allegedly drifted off the road, went in and out of a drainage culvert and went airborne, striking a tree and a utility pole 6 to 8 feet off the ground. According to deputies, wires were down and the transformer was sparking, and Edd was trapped in the vehicle.
    The Henrietta Fire Department cut her out of the car and Henrietta Ambulance transported her to Strong Memorial Hospital. Deputies report that her injuries were not life-threatening.
    Rochester Gas & Electric responded to the scene for the utility pole and transformer, which did catch fire.
