The Rochester Americans will host "Men's Health Night" on Friday, Feb. 3, when it plays the Abbotsford Heat in an American Hockey League game at Blue Cross Arena.
The special event is presented by Urology Associates of Rochester.
The Amerks and the Urology Associates of Rochester are teaming up to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer.
Rochester will be wearing special light blue jerseys for the game to promote men's health awareness.
Fans will have a chance to buy the jerseys at a silent auction during the game. After the game, the winners of the auction will be taken on the ice and will be presented with the jersey from a player.
An online auction is also expected to take place in the near future on the auction section of NHL.com. Details will be announced at a later date.
All proceeds will benefit www.zerocancer.org, which is dedicated to ending prostate cancer.
The Urology Associates of Rochester will also provide free blood tests at the game to screen for prostate cancer. The tests will be given on the Green Party Deck. Anyone who takes part in the screening will be eligible for a prize pack.
