Brooks and Richards offer free rides for disabled voters

For the third year in a row, Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks and Rochester Mayor Thomas Richards will offer "Democracy Rides," a volunteer effort to provide free rides to the polls on Nov. 8 for people with disabilities.

Sponsored by the Monroe County-City of Rochester Council for People with Disabilities, the service will provide transportation to election sites in wheelchair-accessible vehicles to anyone who makes an appointment by 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4.

Companies providing free rides on Election Day are Medicab Transportation at 585-342-7150; Medical Motor Service at 585-654-7030, and Monroe Ambulance and Medical Transportation at 585-232-9000.
