TURIN — He only had 20 years, but Kevin “Junior” Ward Jr. made the best of them.Hundreds, many wearing orange and black, filled the South Lewis Central High School’s auditorium Thursday morning to remember those two decades. Chairs lined the side aisles to accommodate the overflow — the 550 seats weren’t enough.“The reason for our orange and white ribbons is how bright those colors are,” his sister Kayla Herring explained. “And even against black, orange and white does shine through.”

ROCHESTER — Robert Panara, who lost his hearing as a child and became a leading educator of the deaf and a pioneer of studies of deaf culture, has died. He was 94.
