Former YNN anchor Amy Young is the new director of development and marketing at the Pluta Cancer Center, center officials announced Friday, Feb. 10.
Young will be responsible for advancing the center's overall development strategy and will implement and oversee various community efforts, including fundraising, donor cultivation, major gifts, special events and volunteer activities.
Young joins has spent more than 20 years in in television and radio news and was most recently the evening news anchor for YNN Time Warner Cable for the Rochester, Buffalo and Jamestown markets.
"Amy's strong communication skills will be a powerful asset to our team," Pluta Cancer Center CEO Kelly McCormick-Sullivan said. "She is going to help tell the Pluta story throughout the region."
Young earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from Wells College, and lives in Penfield with her husband and two children.
