The Museum of Transportation is exhibiting "Main Street: A Look Over Your Shoulder," with more than 60 historical views of Rochester's Main Street, from now until May 2012.
The photographic exhibit is open at the museum's gallery. Photos date from 1865 to 1950 and show the changing face of Main Street, including the Genesee River flood, and shoppers crossing busy trolley tracks.
The exhibit is free with admission to the museum at 6396 E. River Rd. -- $3 for adults and $2 for children under 12.
Also on display at the museum are a variety of operational, full-size trolley cars, steam locomotives, fire trucks, ambulances, horse-drawn vehicles and a model railroad, along with transportation artifacts.
The New York Museum of Transportation is open only on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the winter, though group visits may be made by appointment.
