Rush-Henrietta’s Lucas Ripley scattered five hits over six innings to help lead the Royal Comets to a 7-1 victory over Webster Schroeder Wednesday at Roth Middle School.

Ripley surrendered back-to-back singles to Adam Gruttadaro and and Conrad Ziemendorf with one out in the in the top of the first. He pitched out of the jam, striking out Emmitt Ozminkowski and forcing Nate Parker to fly out to center.

The Warriors only run came in the top of the sixth inning when Andy Stein scored on a sacrifice fly. Ripley finished with four strikeouts.

Leading 3-0 in the bottom of the fourth, the Royal Comets blew the game open with four runs. Ryan Hancy started the rally with an RBI single with one out.

Jake Abbott provided the key hit in the inning with a two RBI double. Tommy Kirch, who finished with three RBI in the game, singled in Abbott to close out the scoring.

Kirch gave R-H a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the third when he hit a two run home run to right field. Hancy led off the inning with a single.

John Burczak gave the Royal Comets a 1-0 lead with an RBI single in the bottom of the second inning. Christian Harris led off the inning with a single.

Taylor Michaud earned the loss on the mound for the Warriors. Kevin Hebert pitched the seventh inning in relief for R-H.

The Royal Comets are back in action at 4:30 p.m. Friday when they host Fairport, while Schroeder plays Penfield at 7 p.m. Friday at Penfield Town Hall.
