Rush-Henrietta High School graduate swimmer Mallory Morrell was named the Samuel J. Stabins Outstanding Female Athlete at Monroe Community College's athletic awards banquet.
Morrell was a record-setting swimmer for the MCC women’s swimming and diving teams. She won every event she entered during the regular season as well as at the Region III/Northeast District Meet, where she was named the meet’s Most Outstanding Female Swimmer. Morrell capped her fantastic season at the national championship meet by winning an individual national title in the 50-yard freestyle. In the process, she set a new national record in the event with a time of 22.94 seconds. Morrell helped the MCC women place fifth overall and win the Spyke Johnson Non-Scholarship Division title.
Mallory Morrell, a sophomore, is from Rush, N.Y., and is a nursing major.
