A public forum discussing the "Impact of Hydrofracking in the Town of Rush" will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 10, at Rush Methodist Church, 6200 Rush-Lima Road.
The forum, free and open to the public, will provide information on the potential impact of hydrofracking in Rush and the steps that might be taken to protect the community.
The featured speakers will be Jordan Kleiman, an associate professor of History at SUNY Geneseo, to speak on "Fracking: What It Is, Where It Came From, and Why We Should Be Concerned About It," and David Slottje, executive director and senior attorney for the non-profit Community Environmental Defense Council, will speak on "Using Local Laws to Protect Health, Safety, and Community Assets: Safeguarding Community in the face of Industrial-Scale Gas Drilling."
