College of Applied Science and Technology celebrates 40th anniversary

RIT’s John F. Adams was acting director of the School of Engineering Technology in 1980, and one of the individuals who shaped the College of Applied Science and Technology since it was formally established in 1972.

The college will celebrate its early founders and leaders, its current community of students, faculty and staff and its alumni starting with two main events taking place during Brick City Homecoming and Family Weekend.

Cast Commemorative 40th Anniversary Celebration takes place from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 18 next to the Engineering Technology Building. It is free and open to the campus community and general public. Guests will include RIT and Rochester community leaders, alumni and corporate partners.

The School of International Hospitality and Service Innovation Alumni Awards Dinner starts at 6 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Radisson Hotel, 175 Jefferson Road. The event will include dinner starting at 7 p.m. Cost for the program is $50 per person for alumni and guests, or $25 for students. Guests should register online at rit.edu/gcr/brickcity/events/show/83 by Oct. 10.
