Austin McChord is the founder and CEO of Datto Inc., recently recognized as the fastest growing backup and security business in the U.S. by Inc. 500.

McChord, 27, graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a degree in bioinformatics in 2009.

McChord will explain his “Just do it” philosophy at 11:15 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19, as the keynote speaker at the ninth annual RIT Entrepreneurs Conference by “Inspiring a New Wave of Entrepreneurship.” The event, which is hosted by RIT’s E. Philip Saunders College of Business, runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in RIT’s Louise Slaughter Hall, Center for Integrated Manufacturing Studies.

The conference is open to the public and the cost, including a boxed lunch, is $25. The event is free for RIT alumni, students, faculty and staff—with a box lunch fee of $10. For more information or to register, visit rit.edu/cob/entconf/2012/ or call 585-475-2199.
