Rochester General Health System started a sports medicine program for RIT Athletics in August.
The RGHS sports medicine program is for RIT's NCAA Division III athletics program and two Division I hockey programs. The program includes more coverage from Rochester General Hospital physicians and physician assistants at games, a "telemedicine" program to facilitate communication between RIT sports trainers and health personnel and professional development for RIT's sports medicine staff.
The physician team, which is led by sports medicine surgeon Dr. David Privitera and primary care and sports medicine physician Dr. Christine Blonski, includes Dr. Edward Tanner, chief of orthopedics. Krystal Kaminsky will lead the program's team of physicians assistants.
