On Friday, Aug. 17 franchise owners Miguel and Jessica Millan hosted a grand opening event to introduce their company, 101 Mobility of Rochester, to the region.

The company is a mobility equipment business serving the residents of Monroe, Wayne, Genesee, Orleans and several other bordering counties from a headquarters in Rochester. The company works with the area’s seniors, veterans and other individuals who face mobility challenges.

A Golden BuzzAround Lite Scooter was raffled off at the Aug. 17 event, with all proceeds benefitting the Upstate NY Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Approximately 50 people attended, including New York state senator Joseph E. Robach, a representative from the MS Society, some of the region’s doctors and lawyers and many people from the community.

The event brought in nearly $1,000 in donations for the National MS Society, thanks to a raffle in addition to the scooter raffle. The raffle continues (and is open to community participants) via a partnership with the National MS Society, which is planning to pair the raffle with its next community event.

For those who are interested in purchasing a raffle ticket call 585-270-5689.
